Brian M

Nickname/Others might call me:

Bri Bri – I was initially called this by my other halves group of friends, which I really hated and when people realised it , it stuck!

My gay character on TV is:

Oh a tough one………… let me come back to you on that.

Post-game food – you will find me ordering:

Carbs – lots of carbs!!! A few ciders and whiskeys help with any bruising too!

My hockey experience:

I was a hockey virgin until earlier this year and after 6 weeks I am delighted I gave it a go !! I played hurling back in Ireland years ago and I thought hockey would be similar…….. I quickly found out they are not……..!! It has been a bit frustrating at times when you know what you want to do but your hands don’t follow your head …… but I think the more practice the better and the team have been great to help support newbies.

Best thing about being a Bentstix member:

Meeting a great group of people and having the support of experienced and talented team who are happy to help out!

I joined Bentstix because:

I was asked to join by the EC as they wanted a younger, fresher, ‘Irish Brian’ in the team……….
Haha, no seriously, I had a new year’s resolution to join a sports team and improve my fitness so Drew told me to come along to the ‘have a go day’ , also I thought it would be a great way to meet a new bunch of people and expand my circle of friends.

My fav position (on the hockey field) is:

So far I have been put in the forwards around the centre , no goals yet but 2018 promises to be a bumper year…

When I’m not on the hockey field I’m:

Hanging out with friends and pubs, gigs etc, having a game of squash, trying to get out and heading about with the dog or trying to get away on another holiday!

If life were a musical my theme song would be:

Get lucky – Daft Punk- it’s just a great song !

I prepare for a game by:

Looking for some clean sports kits, getting excited by the thoughts of potentially scoring a goal and eating something to get me through the game.

If I was in drag for a night – my drag name and inspiration would be:

‘Ima O’Reilledup’ – a good Irish name and I get excited after a few jagerbombs
