Call-out for Umpires!

Bentstix Hockey Club needs keen beans who are interested in becoming an umpire. Does this sound like you?

Learning to umpire is a great way to become more involved with the game, spruce up your knowledge of hockey rules and give back to the club.

Training to be a community umpire is free.

If this is you, contact Emma ([email protected]) or Sally ([email protected]) to express your interest.

Umpire training is run by Hockey Australia (through their HockeyEd program) with practical evaluations coordinated with local associations. Learn more about HockeyEd and umpire training here: HockeyEd

To become a community umpire you will need to complete online training and a practical evaluation of 45 mins (a real match). The practical evaluation is likely to be coordinated with the Eastern Districts Women’s Hockey Association (the competition where the women’s teams play).

Eastern Districts Women’s Hockey Association are holding an information evening on Tuesday 25th of March for all umpires, including prospective umpires. Read more here.
