Bentstix Day 2016!

For the first time in the history of the club all 5 teams (both men and women) played back to back at the same venue! Now if that’s not an excuse for a BBQ and some cold ones…!

2016 Women’s Season Openers

The girls were back on the pitch this week with back to back games in the glorious sun. And another season kicks off – oh how wonderful it is to be back playing hockey!!

What an amazing Have-a-go hockey day! The sun was shining, the sausage sizzle was delicious and the vibe in the air friendly and welcoming. What a fantastic afternoon of hockey. Lots of fun, laughs, impressive display of skills and wild storm to end things off. Thanks to everyone who came along to Have-A-Go Hockey, it was great to see you all down there. The next Have-A-Go Hockey day is on Sunday 28 February – let’s do it all again

The Boy’s Granny!! Woot!!

What a nerve wrecking grand final! Scoreless all the way through extra time with 9 a side and then 7 a side! It’s tough to go down in the shoot out – but what an amazing year! Congratulations on a wonderful season.  

Men 8’s win an express pass to the Grand Final!

The Bentstix boys do it in style – “Fair go, sport!” rainbow socks for the finals series. The rain may not have stayed away, but that didn’t dampen their celebratory spirit! With a 3 – 0 win, the boys win an express pass to the Grand Final. Go stix!!    

Premiers!!! Congratulations girls

Bentstix take out the minor premiership, the major premiership, Best on Ground in the grand final (Nat Stewart), Best and Fairest for ED division 3 (Gemma Hartmann) and Best and Fairest for all of ED competition, Phoenix Medal winner (Gemma Hartmann). What a phenomenal achievement, so very proud.

Unofficial Bentstix Day 2014

The unofficial Bentstix Hockey Club Day was capped by rainbows yesterday (not kidding – we followed a rainbow on the way to the first game at 9am and another glorious rainbow on the way home from the last game when it finished at 5pm). What an amazing Bentstix day But it was a tough slog

Rainbow Socks Debut

The girls sparkle in their rainbow socks at the 2014 season opening games. Where there are rainbows… there (apparently) must be torrential rain – but there’s nothing that will dampen the girls’ spirits from playing hockey again!

Gold in Antwerp at the World Out Games

Congratulations to Stix Down Under taking out the gold medal match 3-1 and with it the World OutGames and Pink Hockey Champions.

Men SL8 2013 Winter Team

In 2013 the club was lucky enough to welcome some fresh faces and welcome back some players who we hadn’t seen for a while. This allowed us to field two teams,  including the fun/development 8th grade.

For the first time in the history of Bentstix, our boys have finished top of the table – beating GNS to take out the minor premiership.

Bentstix head to Wellington

Both the men’s and women’s international teams bring back gold from Wellington after taking out first place in the Asia Pacific Outgames in 2011.
