During the past year as President of the Bentstix club, I have implemented various technology-based solutions that streamline club management to reduce the administrative burden on Executive Members. I still however find that we (the Executive Team) spend an excessive amount of time chasing members for things we shouldn't have to chase them for.
The executive members donate their precious and limited time to run the club so that you can enjoy playing hockey. Put simply, without us - there would be no club.
We don't ask much, but in case you're unclear of what's expected of you as an 'Active' club player during the winter season, here's the very simple list.- RSVP to Teamer.net requests within 24 hours of receipt - this can be done via SMS or email. If you have already accepted and circumstances prevent you from attending, you must update your status on Teamer.net to 'No' and provide a reason. If it's less than 24 hours before the match, please also telephone the club president.
- Attend 75%+ of games - Hockey is a team sport and as a team member, you're expected to attend the majority of games.
- Attend 60%+ of training sessions - The club hires a professional coach to develop your skills and help us play better as a team. Players who don't attend training miss out on learning the skills and team strategies taught during training.
- Pay your fees by the due date - As a player you are required to pay your fees on or before the due date. The club is not a charity, nor does it provide credit. Put simply, without the payment of member fees, the club cannot pay its bills and will cease to exist. Make it your responsibility and a priority to pay your fees when they are due and do not expect to be reminded. If for any reason what so ever you are unable to pay a fee on or before the due date, you must contact the club Treasurer and make special arrangements.
